Police GT-1: contract settled
In Police, the contract to drill the exploration well Police GT-1 has been completed. As the Polish Geothermal Association reported, citing a notice published on 15 September, the work was accepted and the contractor received 17.13 million zloty. What happens with the resource is to be decided by the survey results and further investment decisions.
Trzebnica: results from two levels
New data also came from Trzebnica, where the Jadwiga T-1 well was being studied. According to information from the municipality dated 22 September, water at a temperature of 31.4 degrees Celsius was obtained from the Muschelkalk, with a yield of 20 cubic metres per hour. At the Buntsandstein the temperature was 42.1 degrees and the yield 24 cubic metres per hour. Tests of the Rotliegend between 1710 and 1880 metres showed no stable inflow of water.
The Buntsandstein was judged the most promising for further work. The final way the intake is developed is to depend on further surveys and on technical and economic analyses. Earlier it was reported that drilling had finished at the planned depth of 3000 metres.
Sochaczew: network and geothermal plant
In Sochaczew a geothermal plant is being built on the avenue al. 600-lecia, and the district heating network is being expanded. As the association reported, a connection is being laid under Warszawska street to integrate the boiler houses on Żeromskiego and Reymonta streets and at al. 600-lecia 25. The whole system is to be finished by the end of 2026.
Shared context
All three projects show different stages of geothermal work in Polish municipalities: settling an exploration well that has been drilled, interpreting survey results, and building the infrastructure to use the heat. In none of the cases described has a decision yet been announced on the final scope of operation.
