The Ministry of Climate and Environment, acting as the Operator of the "Green Transition" programme, has announced the programme's launch. It is delivered under the EEA Financial Mechanism for 2021-2028. Its budget exceeds EUR 160 million.
Four funding areas
The programme is divided into four areas: Climate, Energy, Nature and Circular Economy.
Under the Energy area, support is to cover energy communities, geothermal development, energy storage and CCUS technologies, that is carbon capture, utilisation and storage. The Climate area covers adaptation to climate change, mitigation measures, climate education and air quality improvement. Nature concerns the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity, the creation of reserves and environmental monitoring. The Circular Economy area spans closing the water loop, circularity in construction and green public procurement.
Opening conference on 30 September
The programme's official inauguration will take place on 30 September 2026 in Warsaw, at Przestrzenie Bruna, Białostocka 22, from 9.45 to 15.20. Registration of participants begins at 9.15. The meeting is to present the programme's objectives and information on planned calls and the schedule for launching them. Representatives of NFOŚiGW, MKiŚ's partner in delivering the programme, are to answer participants' questions.
International cooperation
Part of the programme is cooperation with entities from the Donor States, namely Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. During the conference, representatives of partner institutions are to discuss options for building project partnerships and support for beneficiaries. The organiser does not provide transport to the event.
According to the organiser, participants are to receive information at the conference about the planned calls for applications and their launch schedule. Particular attention is to go to the calls planned for launch first and to practical information for future applicants.
